Stage 2 • Design refinement
The next phase emphasized the expandable edge concept and a more deliberate structural layout. It helped turn the idea from a home-made prototype into a more refined flood-defense approach.
What this installation proved
This project demonstrated that the sealing method and panel support needed to evolve further for larger openings and heavier water loads.
What it taught us
- Very large single-piece barriers are harder to handle and store.
- A cleaner structural design becomes more important as the opening grows.
