Never Again Flood Defense

About

Never Again Flood Defense

Custom flood barriers built for Southwest Florida homes — and the storms that threaten them. We engineer personalized flood-protection systems for doorways, thresholds, and every realistic entry point.

Our process

We build flood protection around your home, not around posts.

Most commercial installers focus on permanent hardware. We focus on a complete protection plan that is effective, unobtrusive, and easy to use.

Detailed inspectionWe identify every potential water-entry path: doors, windows, utility penetrations, and uneven surfaces.
Custom design and fabricationBarriers are built for your exact geometry, threshold heights, and home layout.
Preparation and testingWe prepare sealing surfaces, add sealing strips when needed, and validate every barrier before it leaves the shop.
Storage and deployment supportHardware is organized, labeled, and paired with written and video instructions.
Our mission

Effective flood protection without permanent eyesores.

Flood protection should be effective, unobtrusive, and easy to use — not a permanent reminder of hurricane season bolted to your walls.

Built for real homes

Designed for thresholds, patios, and utility penetrations — not a one-size-fits-all product.

No permanent posts

Our flexible edge seals tightly without drilled-in hardware.

Founder story

My name is Kurt Kehlenbeck, and I started Never Again Flood Defense after my wife, Thairys, and I lived through the devastation of Hurricane Ian. Our home in Cape Coral took 12 inches of water, and the cleanup was exhausting. The months that followed changed everything for me.

Rebuilding gave me the time, focus, and drive to understand exactly how homes flood — not just through doors, but through utility penetrations, wall gaps, and uneven floors. I studied flood behavior, tested materials, built prototypes, and refined designs until I developed a barrier system that solved the biggest problem with existing products: the need for permanent posts drilled into your home.

My design uses a flexible, expanding edge that seals tightly without invasive hardware. In 2024, during Hurricanes Helene and Milton, our barriers proved themselves. They kept our garage dry, and had the surge reached Ian levels, I’m confident the rest of the house would have stayed dry as well.

Since then, I’ve continued refining the system and completed multiple installations for homeowners in St. James City. Every project teaches me something new, and every barrier is built with the same care I put into protecting my own home.

This isn’t just a business for me — it’s a mission born from experience, engineering, and the determination to make sure no homeowner has to go through what we did.

Proven performance

Tested through real storms.

Our barriers have been used through Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and they kept our home dry when it mattered most. That experience shapes every installation and every design decision.

Homeowner-led engineering

This system was developed from the experience of protecting my own home.

Improvement with every project

Each installation teaches us how to make the next system better and easier to deploy.
